Poland has determined the cause of the destruction of a private house in the Lublin Voivodeship. It turned out that the house in Wyryki was hit by a missile fired by a Polish F-16 fighter jet. The plane was trying to shoot down a Russian drone during a night attack.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This information was published by the Polish publication Rzeczpospolita<\/a> , citing sources in security structures.<\/p>\n

According to their data, an AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile launched from a Polish F-16 went off course due to a guidance system failure and fell on a residential building in Vyryky. Its length was about three meters and its weight exceeded 150 kg. Fortunately, the ammunition did not detonate thanks to fuses.<\/p>\n

Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk confirmed last week that three Russian drones had been shot down, but did not specify the location of the incident.<\/p>\n

Former military intelligence officer and analyst Maciej Korowai emphasized that it was a kinetic strike.<\/p>\n

“There was no explosion or detonation, as can be seen in the photos of the damaged house,” he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his country had “nothing to do” with Russian drone attacks on Poland or Lithuania. He even chided the Europeans for “overreacting.”<\/p>\n

As is known, on the night of September 9-10, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine, during which some of the drones violated Polish airspace<\/a> . This forced Warsaw to raise its aviation and activate its air defense forces. In total, 19 drones crossed the Polish border, of which only four were shot down.<\/p>\n

Against the backdrop of these events, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the launch of Operation Eastern Sentinel<\/a> , and the very next day, Poland announced its own military operation.<\/p>\n
