Petro Poroshenko, during the discussion of the ratification of the Agreement on the Centennial Partnership between Ukraine and Great Britain, emphasized that it defines Ukraine’s membership in NATO as a real guarantee of security for our state. But for this, Ukraine must carry out appropriate reforms, the opposition leader noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“European Solidarity” votes for this Agreement. I have just returned from Great Britain, had meetings in the government, in the parliament, at the University of Cambridge, where I gave lectures, spoke at a conference. Britain is our reliable partner. But this Agreement is of an exclusively symbolic nature,” the fifth President stated.<\/p>\n

“Why are we voting? Because the Agreement states the need for Ukraine’s membership in NATO as a single strategic position for ensuring security. Ukraine’s membership in NATO provides for internal reforms. This is what the European Parliament Resolution<\/a> says. Metsola spoke about. And it is very important that the authorities hear this,” Poroshenko emphasized.<\/p>\n

“There is democracy, there is freedom, there are weapons, there is the defense industry, there is finance, there is the security and independence of Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.<\/p>\n
