If the EU requirements regarding freedom of speech, will, and the rule of law are not met, the issue of Ukraine&#8217;s membership will be postponed indefinitely.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FKfueZxDhvw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was stated<\/a> on the air of &#8220;Pryamoy&#8221; by Leonid Yemets, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council from the &#8220;European Solidarity&#8221; faction, Doctor of Law.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The risks are obvious. This is our integration into the European community, into the European Union. There are very specific requirements regarding freedom of speech, will, and the rule of law. Requirements, without fulfilling which, without ensuring these high principles and institutions that should adhere to them, we will not see membership in the EU. If events were to develop properly and all European requirements were met, then we could talk about 2029 as a possible time for our membership in the European Union and participation in the elections to the European Parliament. Petro Poroshenko, a diplomat with vast experience, has a level of connections that almost no one in our country has, even from the current government. Not using such connections to obtain additional profits for Ukraine is definitely not in the interests of our state. In addition to Petro Poroshenko, there are people in our political force and other opposition forces who have connections, know the language, and are able to speak about the interests of Ukraine,&#8221; the Kyiv City Council deputy explains.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;We have the prospect of membership before our eyes. Reach out and take it. This is no longer a question of a long-term strategy, but a question of specific actions that need to be taken now. If they are not taken now, it will be postponed again for another 10 years, and then who knows what will happen next. We need to take this story now, while it is hot, while we can really become members of the European Union.
