Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, reported that in Ukraine, citizens over the age of 60 can now voluntarily sign a contract to serve in the Armed Forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the deputy, an official algorithm of actions for accepting older people into service has already been sent to military units and territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCK and SP).<\/p>\n

“This means that the procedure has officially been launched, and those interested can contact the relevant institutions to complete all necessary documents,” he said.<\/p>\n

The procedure involves several stages. First, the candidate must obtain the consent of a specific military unit, then undergo a medical and psychological commission. In case of a positive conclusion, enrollment in a non-combat position is possible. The contract is concluded for a period of one year. A probationary period is also provided, after which the candidate is finally enrolled in service.<\/p>\n

Earlier, People’s Deputy Oleksandr Fedienko explained that the new mobilization rules apply exclusively to volunteers. Ukrainians aged 60+ can choose a position themselves or do so through the CCK.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense is working on a broader reform aimed at a gradual transition to a contract army with clear motivational conditions, including large financial payments for the military.<\/p>\n

Recall that on July 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on military service under a contract by persons who have reached the age limit for military service.<\/a><\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law introducing mandatory military training for students of medical institutions of higher education<\/a> .<\/p>\n
