Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported the discovery of a listening device in his office. The device, disguised as a regular charging unit for a radio telephone, contained a microphone, a SIM card, and a memory card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote about this in Telegram<\/a> .<\/p>\n

According to Sadovoy, he noticed the problem due to a malfunction of the phone on his desk, where several special devices are located for communicating with various dignitaries.<\/p>\n

“This is my desk. There are many phones here, including special ones. And very often I communicate with various respected people here. What was my surprise when the phone started to malfunction,” Sadovy said.<\/p>\n

After that, the phone was given to specialists, who opened the charger and discovered hidden listening components inside. Sadovy noted that the question of the device’s origin remains open at this time.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the SBU and other regulatory bodies should be involved in the investigation to establish whether foreign or Ukrainian special services were involved.<\/p>\n

“If this was done by Ukrainians, someone from the Ukrainian special services, I have a question: why do such a freebie? And it’s so expensive to do it all,” Sadovyi said.<\/p>\n

The mayor emphasized that he expects official explanations from the leadership of the SBU and other relevant bodies in order to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and ensure the security of communication in his office.<\/p>\n
