Polish President Karol Nawrocki has said he would like to deploy nuclear weapons on his country’s territory. He stressed that Poland should participate in nuclear sharing and is counting on France’s support in this matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Karol Nawrocki stressed that as the head of state he considers it necessary to ensure the highest level of security for Poland. He noted that the country should strive to develop its own nuclear capabilities, both energy and military. In his opinion, partnership with France in the field of nuclear technologies could be a key factor in achieving these goals.<\/p>\n

“As the President of the Republic of Poland, I believe that Poland should participate in nuclear sharing. It should have its own nuclear, energy, civil and military capabilities. The partnership between Poland and France is based on this,” said Nawrocki.<\/p>\n

The President also stressed that his priority is to create conditions that will provide Poland with security guarantees in the face of growing threats in Europe. He did not rule out that discussions on the deployment of French nuclear weapons in Poland could take place in the future.<\/p>\n

“Maybe it’s too early to talk about it. But if you ask me whether Poland should participate in nuclear sharing, I will, of course, say ‘yes’,” Nawrocki emphasized.<\/p>\n

It is worth adding that Poland has repeatedly expressed interest in strengthening NATO’s nuclear deterrent on its eastern flank. Earlier, Warsaw raised the issue of deploying American nuclear warheads as part of a “nuclear exchange” program. Now, for the first time, the Polish leader directly mentioned the possibility of cooperation with France, which is one of the two nuclear powers in the EU.<\/p>\n

Recall that France has suggested that in five years, by 2030, Russia could become a “real threat” to Europe. The French Chief of Staff, Thierry Burkhard, noted that it is important to combine drones “on the ground, in the air, at sea,” but if France finds itself under threat from the Russian Federation, “the issue will not be conventional weapons, but nuclear deterrence.”<\/a><\/p>\n
