Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at a press conference with European Parliament President Roberta Metzola that Ukraine has two strategic plans – ending the war and finding additional financial resources to cover defense costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelensky stressed that the main priority is to end the war, but in parallel the government is considering a second option – ensuring financial stability in the event of prolonged hostilities. The President explained that the cost of one year of war is about 120 billion, of which 60 billion is covered by the Ukrainian budget, and another 60 billion must be sought from external sources.<\/p>\n

“Plan A is to end the war. Plan B is to find 120 billion. This is a big challenge, but we must be ready for any scenario,” Zelenskyy emphasized.<\/p>\n

The Head of State noted that in peacetime or even during a truce, such significant resources may not be needed, but now the scale of the problem is critical. That is why Ukraine is actively discussing the issue of financing with partners. Zelensky noted that the situation is dynamic and will depend on how quickly strategic goals can be achieved.<\/p>\n

The president paid special attention to the topic of negotiations with the United States on security guarantees. He confirmed that Kyiv is counting on concluding bilateral agreements that would partially repeat the principles of NATO Article 5. According to Zelensky, this will be an important step towards creating an effective defense system for Ukraine even after the end of the active phase of the war.<\/p>\n

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 26 countries are ready to join security guarantees for Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, after the meeting of the \u201cCoalition of the Willing\u201d in Paris , 26 countries declared their readiness to send troops or provide other support to Ukraine<\/a> . The training of security guarantee forces will cover land, air, sea and cyberspace.<\/p>\n

As it became known, Slovakia is ready to join the security guarantees for Ukraine<\/a> by providing logistical support to European troops, however, it does not plan to deploy its own contingent.<\/p>\n
