In Ukraine, there are three deaths for every one child born, which indicates a worsening demographic situation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Institute of Demography, there are currently 30 million citizens in the territory controlled by Ukraine, and the birth rate is 0.8.<\/span><\/p>\n

Experts have suggested that by 2030, only 25 million people will live in Ukraine, and in the long term \u2014 by 2100 \u2014 the country’s population will be 15 million people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, the Demographic Development Strategy approved by the government last year indicates that if nothing is done, Ukraine’s population will decrease to 28.9 million by 2040, however, with the help of fertility support programs, it is possible to reach 33.9 million people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers recently increased the amount of payments upon the birth of a child, and in Ukraine there are also programs “Baby Package” and “Student Package”.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, as Iryna Ippolitova, a senior researcher at the CES, notes, the decline in birth rates is observed not only in Ukraine, but demographic decline also exists in European countries.<\/p>\n

“The reasons lie in both socio-cultural and economic aspects. On the one hand, women are more likely to get an education and strive to build a career, which is why they give birth later and fewer children. On the other hand, having children significantly increases family expenses,” she explained.<\/p>\n

We remind you that in the first week after the changes regarding the travel abroad of men aged 18-22 came into effect, the number of trips to Poland increased by more than 10 times<\/a> .<\/p>\n

By the way, next year the Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate 150 million hryvnias for the return of Ukrainians<\/a> from abroad.<\/p>\n

As is known, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life Problems of the NAS, Oleksandr Gladun, stated that in order to preserve the population of Ukraine , 100 women of reproductive age should give birth to 210-220 children<\/a> .<\/p>\n
