In order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, work is underway to create energy islands on the territory of the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was the response provided by the Kyiv City State Administration to the official request of “Pryamoy”.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, Kyivteploenergo has identified 8 facilities to begin implementing the Concept of Restoration and Increasing Energy Sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first stage is designing 15 cogeneration (gas piston) units at 6 sites. The second stage is planning to install 4 gas piston units with a capacity of 3.35 MW each.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, the city has already received cogeneration equipment – two gas turbine plants with an electrical capacity of 54 MW each.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, additional solar power plants (SPPs) are being installed in the city’s housing stock. As part of the competition for projects to implement energy-efficient measures in residential buildings, it is planned to install 34 SPPs in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

As a reminder, the director of the energy company Yasno, Serhiy Kovalenko, reported that this fall, Ukrainians can expect new power outages<\/a> due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n
