The changes are to come into effect on January 1, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> The press release of the Ministry of Finance notes that additional revenues from the VAT increase will be directed primarily to financing the country&#8217;s &#8220;defense and security.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Previously, the government planned to submit the draft budget for 2026 to parliament on September 29. The main parameters have already been agreed with the president, so minimal amendments are being made to them during consideration in the State Duma.<\/p>\n<p> Even with increased personal and corporate income taxes, Moscow has already been forced to triple its federal budget deficit forecast to 1.7% of GDP this year.
