Key Takeaways from Zelenskyy’s Meeting with Trump

In fact, no matter how reassuring it may sound to read or hear such statements, they are overly optimistic and do not fully reflect reality. While the Russian economy is indeed struggling, this has been a gradual process rather than an immediate collapse. The military situation remains extremely complex, with territorial losses being reported daily by the Deep State. Sanctions pressure has essentially stalled at the levels of early 2025, and Russia has largely adapted to it. As for negotiations, the U.S. president will reportedly comment in a month on whether Putin has deceived again — not in two weeks, as some might hope, because that idea has already become something of a meme.

In short, yesterday’s posts and statements from Donald Trump offer nothing new that could influence the end of the war. There is nothing about the United States’ role, nothing about expanding military or economic assistance. Selling weapons, while not entirely negative, cannot be equated with support. For comparison, China claims it does not support Russia either, yet still sells engines and components.

Of course, there is not yet enough information to conclude. But if we focus solely on the U.S. president’s rhetoric, then aside from a tone that may be reassuring for Ukraine, there is nothing substantively new in these statements.

Phantom Drones Over Europe: Who’s Really Behind the Scandinavian Scare?

“Everything is going positively by itself, the Russian economy will collapse on its own without new sanctions, and Ukraine will soon storm Moscow with EU money. Good luck to everyone!”

As a reminder, on September 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US leader Donald Trump. Zelenskyy informed Trump about the successes on the front.
