The Russian occupiers are not connecting the Zaporizhzhia NPP to external power. The blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP continues for the second day in a row. The enemy is doing this intentionally, raising the threat level not only for Ukraine, but also for all of Europe. The risks of losing control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP are extremely high. As a result, the enemy’s actions may provoke a nuclear catastrophe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Energoatom reported<\/a> that the Russians are deliberately continuing to keep the Zaporizhzhia NPP in a blackout. Experts point to the deliberate and provocative actions of the Russians. Currently, the station is powered only by diesel generators. There is no external power supply.<\/p>\n

“For the second day in a row, the Zaporizhzhia NPP, occupied by Russia, is forced to operate on diesel generators due to the loss of external power supply. This creates a critical situation that threatens the security of not only Ukraine, but also European countries,” Energoatom said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Experts recalled that yesterday, September 23, the Russians provoked a blackout at the Zapadnaya NPP by their actions<\/a> . The power line was damaged. At the same time, on the Ukrainian side, this power line is in good condition and there are no technical problems with its connection at all. However, the occupants of the Zapadnaya NPP are not connecting it.<\/p>\n

Energoatom also reminded that the ZNPP will not be able to operate for a long time on diesel generators alone – they are not designed to support the plant for a long time. Therefore, if these generators suddenly stop, the risk of losing control over the ZNPP is extremely high.<\/p>\n

Experts called on the international community to further increase pressure on the Russian Federation. The Zapadnaya NPP itself should be returned under the control of Energoatom specialists.<\/p>\n

“We call on the international community and partners to increase pressure on the aggressor country. The plant must be immediately returned to the control of its sole legal operator – Energoatom, in order to prevent a radiation and nuclear catastrophe,” Energoatom added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, IAEA experts reported that artillery fire was heard near the Zaporizhzhia NPP<\/a> . As a result, columns of smoke rose into the sky near the station.<\/p>\n

The IAEA also reported that difficulties arose at the ZNPP regarding the water supply to the power units<\/a> of the plant.<\/p>\n
