Several unidentified drones were spotted over the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein on Friday, September 26. Schleswig-Holstein borders Denmark, where drones have been spotted three times this week. Local authorities have launched an official investigation into the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to<\/a> NDR, the region’s Minister of the Interior, Sabine S\u00fctterlin-Wack, stated that the case was registered on suspicion of possible espionage.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that the Schleswig-Holstein Interior Ministry is cooperating with the federal government and the Bundeswehr, and the local police, in coordination with other states, are strengthening protection against drones.<\/p>\n

“We are thoroughly investigating all suspicions of espionage and sabotage and remain vigilant,” S\u00fctterlin-Wack stressed. At the same time, she did not specify the exact number of drones that were recorded in the sky.<\/p>\n

It is noted that this is not the first such case in the region. In early September, police already conducted searches of a cargo ship on the Kiel Canal, which, according to investigators, could be used as a base for launching drones.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that earlier, operations at Aalborg Airport in North Jutland were temporarily suspended<\/a> after unidentified drones appeared in its airspace.<\/p>\n

On the night of September 23 , Gardermoen International Airport in the capital of Norway was forced to temporarily suspend operations<\/a> after unidentified drones were spotted in the airspace above the airport.<\/p>\n
