The names of the officers were identified by independent journalists and investigators with the help of open-source intelligence \u2014 and this data was confirmed by Ukrainian special services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/world\/russia-ukraine-war\/article\/russian-officers-war-crimes-bucha-ukraine-m85bb6dvn?t=1759060219031\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Times<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p> The investigators recalled that Russian troops were in Bucha for 29 days in early 2022. During this time, mass killings, torture, and looting were recorded in the city; Bucha was called the &#8220;Srebrenica of this conflict&#8221; in the publication. According to official Ukrainian estimates, more than 500 people died in Bucha during the occupation, more than 100 were buried in a mass grave near the church, and dozens are missing. The UN classified the events in Bucha as ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p> Independent lawyers and investigators have gathered evidence from open sources and intelligence. The names have been vetted by Ukrainian authorities, and at least eight of those involved have already been investigated by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General\u2019s Office and issued notices of suspicion, paving the way for further prosecution in Ukrainian courts and, if necessary, the International Criminal Court.<\/p>\n<p> Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, commenting on the investigation and prosecution of war criminals, emphasized that &#8220;if we continue to have the support of the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States of America, we will definitely achieve a just peace, and every war criminal will be punished. Establishing the names and roles of commanders is an important step in the engine of international justice for war crimes committed during the occupation.<\/p>\n<p> Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko once again emphasized the need for international support.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;If we continue to have the support of the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States of America, we will definitely achieve a just peace and every war criminal will be punished.
