In many areas, electricity and water went out, traffic lights stopped working, transport began to run erratically, and elevators stopped. Shops were forced to switch to cash-only payments, as electronic systems did not function. <\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"Tsaplienko\/81092\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p> Local media reported a column of smoke in the area of the Luch thermal power plant and substation. As a result of the damage, power supply problems arose not only in the regional center, but also in a number of settlements. Stary Oskol, Gubkin, Shebekino, Chernyanka, Korocha, Dubovoe, Severny, as well as Borisovka, Rokytne and Proletarske were partially left without electricity.<\/p>\n<p> Belgorod Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed the information about &#8220;significant power outages&#8221; in his address.
