The Central Election Commission of Moldova reported that over 99% of ballots have been counted after the parliamentary elections held on September 28. According to preliminary data, the ruling party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS), founded by the country’s current president, Maia Sandu, is winning a landslide victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the results, PAS received 49.91% of the vote.<\/p>\n

The Patriotic Bloc came in second with 24.33%. It was followed by the ALTERNATIVE Bloc with 8.01%, Our Party with 6.23%, and the Democracy at Home Party (PPDA), which received 5.64%.<\/p>\n

Thus, it is these political forces that overcome the passage barrier and enter the new parliament. <\/p>\n

According to the CEC, the overall turnout in the elections was 52%. Voters aged 66 to 75 were the most active \u2014 76.14% of them came to the polling stations. Among young people aged 18 to 25, the turnout was significantly lower \u2014 only 48%.<\/p>\n

The elections have become decisive for the future course of the country, because Moldova is a parliamentary republic, and it is the party that forms the majority in parliament that has a key influence on the further development of the state.<\/p>\n
