After a series of incidents involving flights of unknown drones over the country’s territory, the Danish army command issued a secret order to mobilize part of the reservists.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> TV2 on September 29, citing its own sources.<\/p>\n

According to journalists, the mobilization order is dated September 28. It directly states that the decision was made in connection with the difficult situation with drone flights in Danish airspace.<\/p>\n

The journalists have not received official confirmation from the Defense Command, but TV2’s interlocutors claim that several hundred soldiers are involved. Their mobilization is being carried out “in preparation for a possible deployment to Denmark.”<\/p>\n

Security advisor and former chief intelligence analyst for the armed forces, Jakob Kaarsbo, called such measures unprecedented.<\/p>\n

“This shows that we are in a completely exceptional situation. That’s why we are seeing these exceptional measures. I don’t recall hearing about anything like this before,” he said.<\/p>\n

According to TV2, there are currently no official statistics on the number of reservists in Denmark. However, in 2013, the country’s Main Organization of Reservists estimated their number at around 3,000 people.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the evening of September 25 , Aalborg Airport in North Jutland temporarily suspended operations after unidentified drones appeared<\/a> in its airspace.<\/p>\n

France, Germany and Sweden later announced they would send their military and anti-drone systems to Denmark<\/a> , where an EU summit is due to take place in the near future. The move comes as European powers seek to boost security after a series of drone incursions into Danish airspace.<\/p>\n
