Six NATO member states have financed four defense packages for Ukraine under the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative for a total of over $2 billion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced by<\/a> President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n

According to the head of state, this program was created in cooperation between the United States and NATO and began operating in August 2025. Its goal is to accelerate the supply of critically important weapons systems and equipment, including American-made ones.<\/p>\n

The first package ($578 million) was provided by the Netherlands<\/p>\n

The second ($495 million) is a joint contribution from Denmark, Norway and Sweden<\/p>\n

The third ($500 million) was financed by Germany<\/p>\n

The fourth ($500 million) was taken over by Canada.<\/p>\n

The delivery of equipment from the first two packages has already started – they began arriving in Ukraine in mid-September.<\/p>\n

The United States, for its part, has completed the approval of the third and fourth packages together with Canada and Germany.<\/p>\n

“This is a very effective tool that allows us to purchase American weapons at the expense of partners. This includes, in particular, missiles for the Patriot and HIMARS systems,” said President Zelensky.<\/p>\n

Negotiations are currently underway on the fifth and sixth packages, and in parallel, work has already begun on the formation of the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth.<\/p>\n

Countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Iceland have announced their intention to join the fifth package.<\/p>\n

The overall goal of the PURL initiative is to ensure a stable monthly replenishment of the program by $1 billion, which will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and create the prerequisites for a just and lasting peace.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukraine is receiving more and more military assistance from NATO partners. Four weapons packages have already been financed under the new PURL program, two of which are already on their way to our country<\/a> . This allows us to accelerate the supply of modern equipment and meet the urgent needs of the army.<\/p>\n

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine needs to receive a billion dollars from partners every month to purchase American weapons.<\/a><\/p>\n
