We were impartial, worked very professionally and only recorded the course of election day, the course of voting. It should be noted that in the polling stations that we visited, which were almost 20 villages, there was a very friendly, festive atmosphere, without any violations. I was struck by the fact that in these villages everyone, even the youth and the older generation, did not know the Russian language, which was very inspiring,” Gerashchenko noted.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOyyAU5v6Hc

Electoral technology testing ground: Russia prepares revenge in Moldova

At the same time, according to her, Russia actively used various electoral technologies in Moldova, trying to influence the course of the vote.

“We are talking about information wars, the active use of disinformation, the discrediting of pro-European politicians through TikTok, through Telegram. Russia greatly exploited the piety of the Moldovan population. We saw a church in every village, a cross at the entrance, a chapel. On the eve of the elections, journalists exposed that for a year now Russia has been organizing pilgrimage tours of priests of the Russian Patriarchate. But instead of spiritual conversations, they were recruited to create networks on social networks, where they then promoted the favorite horror stories of the “Russian world” about the attack of the terrible and corrupt West, “traditional values”… all this nonsense,” the people’s representative informs.

In addition, as Gerashchenko notes, the Kremlin tried to support its parties by financing “chauvinistic projects” through the “crypt”, and tried to bribe voters, playing on their poverty or nostalgic feelings for the Soviet Union, by transferring money through Russian banks.

“But it should be noted that Maia Sandu – I compare her to a highly professional surgeon – simply cut off everything that could give a post-Soviet metastasis. At first, the authorities did not allow several chauvinistic projects to the elections, and two days before the elections, they suspended the activities of two parties… They also covered the network of these payments and did not allow Russia to create many polling stations for manipulation. They did not allow many polling stations to open in Transnistria, where only 12 polling stations worked this year,” the MP explains.

This is Russia’s defeat: Poroshenko congratulated his sister party, Action and Solidarity, on its victory in the Moldovan elections.

“Thanks to such pinpoint, but very precise methods, the Moldovan authorities managed to outwit Russia, and that’s very cool,” summed up Iryna Gerashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction.

As you know, on September 28, parliamentary elections were held in Moldova , in which citizens elected a new legislative body of 101 deputies. According to the CEC, more than one and a half million citizens took part in the vote, which is 51.90% of the total number of voters. The most active group of voters was the group of voters aged 35 to 45.

According to the results of processing 100% of the votes at all polling stations , the party of the incumbent President of Moldova Maia Sandu “Action and Solidarity” received the greatest support , gaining 50.2% of the votes. The pro-Russian “Patriotic Bloc” came in second place – 24.1%, and the “Alternative” bloc closed the top three with 7.9%. Also, having managed to overcome the established threshold, “Our Party” (6.2%) and “Democracy at Home” (PPDA) (5.6%) are entering the Moldovan parliament.

At the same time, Russia tried to push Moldova away from its chosen course towards the European Union. Political analysts note Russia’s active interference in the parliamentary elections . Some figures trying to obtain accreditation as international observers have already been seen at pseudo-referendums in Crimea and the occupied territories of Donbas and Abkhazia.

In addition, on the eve of the parliamentary elections in Moldova, fakes were spread on social networks about alleged agreements to send Moldovan military personnel to Ukraine to participate in the war waged against it by the aggressor country Russia.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram.

Russia attempted to disrupt the elections in Moldova using a variety of technologies: including the piety of the population, the influence of the Russian church, disinformation and discrediting opponents on social media, and direct voter bribery through cryptocurrency.
