Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, reported a new suspicion to an official of the Dnipro Housing and Operations Department, who appears in a corruption scheme to overstate the cost of beds for military units in the Dnipropetrovsk region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is stated<\/a> on the SBI website.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers remind: in 2023, this official had already organized a tender for the purchase of 5 thousand bunk beds for a total amount of 28 million UAH. According to experts, the market value was no more than 18 million UAH, so the state overpaid more than 9.5 million. Then the suspect was taken into custody with the alternative of bail of 2 million UAH, and the materials were transferred to the court.<\/p>\n

As it turned out during further investigation, two months after the first deal, the official concluded another agreement with the same supplier company. This time, for 2,000 beds.<\/p>\n

The official was informed of a second suspicion \u2014 this time for negligent attitude to service under martial law, which led to serious consequences (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n

The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment.<\/p>\n

In addition, the state plans to file a civil lawsuit to recover all damages.<\/p>\n
