The Security Service of Ukraine detained two Russian GRU agents who were collecting and transmitting coordinates for artillery and air strikes on Kramatorsk and Slavyansk to the occupiers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SBU Telegram<\/a> channel reported this.<\/p>\n

According to the intelligence agency, the Russians recruited local residents through Telegram channels, where they called for the complete occupation of the region. After recruitment, the agents operated alone, conducting reconnaissance in various frontline areas and sending the resulting data to their handlers in anonymous chats.<\/p>\n

One of those detained was a 49-year-old resident of Slovyansk. According to investigators, he used Russian aerial bombs and artillery against Ukrainian military positions in the community. To conceal his identity, the perpetrator wore tactical uniform, posing as a member of the defense forces before “departing” on a mission.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Another suspect is a 66-year-old resident of Kramatorsk, who, according to investigators, was recruited because of an acquaintance. Through an intermediary, he transmitted to the enemy the geolocation of checkpoints and the routes of mobile fire teams of the defenders.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The detainees are in custody. They are charged with activities detrimental to national security; if found guilty, they face life imprisonment and confiscation of property. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n

The SBU previously exposed a Russian agent among Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel<\/a> . A soldier from a strike drone company was transmitting information about Ukrainian forces’ operational plans to the FSB.<\/p>\n

The Security Service of Ukraine also exposed and detained a major instructor from one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air brigades<\/a> , who turned out to be a Russian intelligence agent. The suspect was planning strikes on Ukrainian airfields where F-16, Mirage 2000, and Su-24 aircraft are based.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the SBU detained two Russian informants<\/a> who leaked information about the SBU positions near Slavyansk to the occupiers and spied on Ukrainian Armed Forces echelons.<\/p>\n
