However, there are many questions about the feasibility of such a move, given the shortage of weapons and equipment on the front, the inefficient use of funds, and serious concerns that the sold weapons could end up in the hands of the Kremlin.

This was stated on the air of “Pryamoy” by the People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Sofia Fedyna.

“The situation is multidimensional, and it is impossible to say unequivocally whether this is bad or good. But there are several significant nuances. Yes, indeed, we have manufacturers that the state does not purchase. But they produce the things that are needed abroad. And, accordingly, if they had the opportunity to sell abroad one or another weapon that, for example, is not used in Ukraine because the state does not purchase, then enterprises would work, people would have jobs, taxes would return to the Ukrainian budget, and in general, this is good,” Fedyna noted.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv09SjMj57w

Europe’s Drone Dilemma: Insurance or Illusion of Safety

At the same time, according to her, the question remains open as to why Ukraine is not purchasing the necessary weapons and equipment that are lacking at the front.

“We lack almost everything at the front. Well, really almost everything. There is even a lack of elementary pickup trucks. I am not talking about certain weapons. And here it would be worth analyzing how effectively the state uses funds, in particular from our taxes. I will remind you that we use our own money to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because almost all external funds cannot be directed to defense issues. They concern culture, education, social and other areas, but not defense,” explains Fedyna.

“That’s why our taxes are going somewhere. And where are they going? On “a billion drones”, a huge number of which are so outdated and non-functional that they simply lie in hundreds somewhere in a warehouse, because it is even impossible to optimally resolder them, because it all has to be done from scratch… We see the same way that personal income tax is used inefficiently. Despite the fact that the Ukrainian market has many manufacturers of drones, electronic warfare systems, other means, military equipment, such as pickup trucks, SUVs, and so on, which are critically needed on the front line,” the MP added.

Kalashnikovs and more: how Russia supplies weapons to the Italian mafia

In addition, she notes, there are serious concerns that the sold weapons could end up in the hands of the Kremlin through intermediaries in Africa and the Middle East.

“Africa and the Middle East. How many countries are there that unequivocally support Ukraine? How many countries are there that have very good communication with the Russian Federation? Are there guarantees that weapons that will be sold by Ukrainian manufacturers will not end up on the front and will not be used against our defenders? Do we have the ability to monitor this process? Do we have agreements that prohibit the resale of weapons to third, fifth, certain structures, and so on? There are too many questions that need to be answered. And I believe that Ukrainian society deserves these answers,” summed up Sofia Fedyna, a People’s Deputy from European Solidarity.

As a reminder, on September 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a large-scale press conference, during which he made key statements regarding the country’s security, military needs, foreign aid, and energy threats. Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will begin selling weapons , but only those that are in surplus and fully supplied to the army. According to him, exports are planned to the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram .

Ukraine has agreed to export surplus weapons to the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
