On October 1, Ukraine received another tranche of financial assistance from the European Union \u2014 4 billion euros as part of the G7 ERA (Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration) international initiative.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n

“These funds are another step towards Ukraine’s financial stability. They will help cover critical needs in the social, military, and reconstruction sectors,” said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.<\/p>\n

In total, within the framework of the ERA mechanism, Ukraine has already received 14 billion euros out of the planned 18.1 billion.
The remaining amount should arrive by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

The ERA mechanism<\/strong> is a joint initiative of the G7 countries, which provides for lending to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. The total volume of the program is up to $50 billion.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the full-scale war, the EU has become the largest donor to Ukraine, providing over \u20ac62.5 billion in direct budget support.<\/p>\n

Recall that Europe and the United States may agree on the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, the total amount of which is about $50 billion, in the near future.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, the European Commission has developed a new initiative that involves using the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to finance a large-scale loan to Ukraine<\/a> . This is an amount of 140 billion euros, which Kyiv will be able to receive to support the budget and strengthen the defense sector.<\/p>\n
