The permission granted by the authorities to leave Ukraine for men liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 22 has caused temporary imbalances in the labor market, but is considered a strategically justified step.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This statement was made by<\/a> Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, commenting on business complaints about the dismissal and emigration of young employees.<\/p>\n

Venislavsky confirmed that a certain number of young men have taken advantage of the right to leave, which has indeed created a temporary shortage of personnel. However, he noted that there is currently no accurate data, as many are leaving ostensibly to study abroad.<\/p>\n

According to the deputy, there will be no negative impact on the economy on a national scale \u2014 the current situation is of a random (situational) nature. The first conclusions can be drawn only in 6\u201312 months, when it will become clear how many young people will return.<\/p>\n

Venislavsky stressed that permission to leave does not jeopardize mobilization, because the mobilization age begins at 25. In his opinion:<\/p>\n

“No mobilization processes are under threat. The outflow of young people does not pose a threat to the security and defense of the state.”<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that travel permits allow young people to gain education and experience abroad, which can later be used in the reconstruction of Ukraine:<\/p>\n

“Those who study and work abroad will then return and rebuild our country. This is the right decision, which demonstrates that even during war, Ukraine remains an open state, part of the European community.”<\/p>\n

According to the politician, the departure of young people is part of a long-term strategy that corresponds to Ukraine’s vision as a full-fledged participant in the future EU.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind you that after the Ukrainian government allowed men aged 18\u201322 to travel abroad on August 28, there has been a noticeable increase in the flow of young citizens towards European countries. This is especially noticeable in the Polish direction, where the number of departures increased more than 10 times in the first week after the changes came into force.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, after the government allowed men aged 18 to 22 to temporarily cross the state border in late August, Ukraine has seen an active movement of young people from a number of regions<\/a> . The dynamics are particularly noticeable in the western part of the country.<\/p>\n
