Due to a severe fuel shortage and a drop in gasoline production following strikes on oil refineries, the Russian government is preparing urgent measures to stabilize the market. These include imports from China and South Korea, the use of toxic additives, and the promotion of ethyl alcohol adulteration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by Russian media.<\/p>\n

In addition, Moscow plans to temporarily allow the addition of monomethylaniline to fuel, a dangerous additive that increases the octane number, but was previously banned. This decision should be unblocked for at least six months to somehow plug the hole in the domestic market. The Russians also want to remove the excise tax on ethyl alcohol so that it can be used as an additive to gasoline – and thus stretch the volumes that are not enough.<\/p>\n

The problem has already reached a systemic level: in September alone, gasoline production fell by a million tons, and the market is short about 20% of the total monthly volume. The situation became critical after massive attacks by Ukrainian drones, which either completely stopped or seriously damaged at least six oil refineries.<\/p>\n

Despite the already imposed embargo on gasoline exports and restrictions on diesel exports, the fuel crisis is only deepening. The Russian government hopes that imports from Asia, permitted additives, and increased domestic supplies will somehow stabilize the situation, especially in the Far East and Siberia, where supplies are already running low.<\/p>\n

We will remind you that in temporarily occupied Crimea, the number of gas stations selling gasoline has decreased by 50%.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, a large-scale shutdown of gas stations is underway in the Russian Federation<\/a> . Experts say the main reason is the decline in fuel production at oil refineries, which has caused fuel instability in many regions of the country.<\/p>\n
