Petro Poroshenko visited the Regional Hospital for War Veterans in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and<\/a> spoke with medical personnel and the wounded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the fifth President, veterans’ policy in Ukraine must be comprehensive and professional, so that those who sacrificed their lives at the front can find their place in life after the war. <\/p>\n

“Veterans today need a highly professional and competent approach. Not only treatment, but also help the wounded and demobilized integrate into society, help them settle down, help their families find work. And the state should take care of all of this,” Poroshenko believes. <\/p>\n

“Currently, of course, we are dissatisfied with the current level and will pay special attention to veterans’ policy,” Poroshenko says. <\/p>\n

The regional hospital is now a modern medical facility that cares for soldiers with wounds of varying severity. “I’m convinced that the doctors here are simply gifted. The first time we saw this hospital, then a railway clinic, and the way it is now are simply incredible. And I’d like to thank them. The doctors are working 24\/7. They provide incredible care. I’ve heard words of gratitude from patients and veterans to the doctors who help them. And that was a very special experience for me,” Poroshenko said. <\/p>\n

“The fortitude of the guys fighting for recovery is amazing. It was a pleasure to talk with the soldiers, including Andriy from the 102nd Brigade, who is celebrating his birthday today. His cheerfulness and smile are the best proof of the success of his treatment,” noted Petro Poroshenko.<\/p>\n

As is known, the Poroshenko Foundation is implementing the National Veterans Support Program<\/a> . In 2025, the competition received approximately 200 applications. These projects focused on psychological and physical rehabilitation, social and legal support, the creation of spaces for recovery and recreation, professional retraining, and the development of veteran entrepreneurship. Thirteen winning projects received funding from the Foundation and began implementation in July. <\/p>\n

“Our goal is to provide support to veterans. Not only and not primarily social assistance. But to help veterans learn how to live after the war, how to find their place in life after serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. How to rehabilitate after being wounded,” Petro Poroshenko said during the Veterans Forum in May of this year<\/a> .<\/p>\n

“It’s crucial for us now to build rear support for our veterans, for those who were wounded and can no longer serve on the front lines. They’re returning home, and this return must be a dignified one. We must give them the opportunity to rediscover themselves. It’s crucial that those returning from the front feel they can learn a new profession, start their own business, and set an example for how Ukraine should be built. A Ukraine of veterans and young veterans is being founded today,” Maryna Poroshenko added. <\/p>\n
