In 26 municipalities, the ruling party&#8217;s candidates were unopposed. A significant portion of the pro-Western opposition boycotted the vote.<\/p>\n<p> Voting concluded on Saturday at 8:00 PM local time, after which the pro-government television channel Imedi published an exit poll. According to the data, incumbent Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze received 77.4% of the vote, while the Georgian Dream party received over 76% of the vote in the capital.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, local elections were held in Georgia on Saturday, October 4. Eight Georgian opposition parties announced in July that they would not participate in the October municipal elections.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/u-tbilisi-spalakhnuly-masovi-protesty-uchasnyky-oholosyly-uriad-nelehitymnym-ta-pochaly-shturm-prezydentskoho-palatsu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Protests erupted in Georgia following the disputed results of municipal elections<\/a> . They soon escalated into clashes with police, after which the crowds were dispersed with water cannons. Anti-government protesters also stormed the presidential palace. Some managed to break into the courtyard. There were arrests.
