According to her, this decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and concerns teachers working in 84 communities of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.

The funds will be accrued in October – for the period starting from September 1, 2025. The Prime Minister emphasized that these payments should be real support for teachers who continue to teach children despite constant shelling, evacuations, and work in shelters.

Svyrydenko also noted that the draft state budget for 2026 provides for a general increase in the salaries of teaching staff by 50%.

“In times of war, when the enemy is trying to destroy us and our future, the work of Ukrainian teachers is more important than ever, because it is about educating the next generations – those who will develop the state in the future. At the same time, this work is more difficult than ever – in conditions of shelling, especially in frontline territories,” the head of government emphasized.

The Prime Minister also met with the 10 finalists of the national Global Teacher Prize Ukraine, where she discussed the problems and challenges of the education system during wartime. She thanked the teachers for their resilience, dedication to the profession, and willingness to continue teaching children even during airstrikes.

“Our teachers stay with the children, introduce new approaches to learning – this is an example of great responsibility and love for their work. The Government’s task is to be there and support.
