Former journalist of the Vinnytsia media outlet “Vezha” and officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Bohdan Budai died at the front.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As reported<\/a> by the editorial office of the publication, the tragedy occurred on September 26, 2025 while performing official duties.<\/p>\n

Bohdan is originally from Kryvyi Rih, but he lived and worked in Vinnytsia for a long time, where he was a journalist for “Vezh”. Colleagues remember him as an extremely conscientious, persistent and humane specialist who always approached his work with full dedication.<\/p>\n

After the full-scale invasion began, Bohdan joined the army. He served in the 144th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. First in the communications department, and later as an officer in the Civil-Military Cooperation (CMC) group.<\/p>\n

“Bogdan is an incredible person. Anyone who knew him will agree. He had such a broad outlook, so many abilities, such a subtle sense of this world… He was very intelligent, at one time he was engaged in literary translations, was interested in history, played the guitar and much more. He was always ready to come to the aid of others, and also loved animals very much, sheltered and cared for several seals during the war, and even in very difficult situations, it seemed, he cared more for them than for himself…”, recalls the beloved girlfriend of the deceased, Yulia.<\/p>\n

Bohdan’s siblings say that he always remained human – even in the most difficult conditions.<\/p>\n

“He never left anyone alone with problems – whether physical or mental. If someone was having a hard time, Bohdan always found a way to support them: he would cheer them up with a joke, lend a shoulder, or just sit silently next to them so they wouldn’t feel alone,” the military recalled.<\/p>\n

Farewell to Bohdan Budvay took place on October 4 in Kryvyi Rih. He is remembered as a journalist who knew how to see deeper than others, and a warrior who was not afraid to go where it was dark so that there would be more light.<\/p>\n
