The deputies of the Verkhovna Rada were unable to appoint two judges to the Constitutional Court according to their quota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> Ukrinform.<\/span><\/p>\n

As noted, none of the four candidates submitted by the advisory group of experts managed to gain the required 226 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The most votes \u2014 224 \u2014 went to Zakhar Tropin, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Representation of the Ministry of Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

179 people’s deputies voted for Yulia Kyrychenko, a member of the board of the Center for Political and Legal Reforms and an advisor to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.<\/span><\/p>\n

The candidacy of Oksana Klymenko, a consultant to the Verkhovna Rada Research Service on legal policy issues, received 90 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prosecutor of the UCP Taras Tsymbalisty received 84 votes from people’s deputies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the fact that no one received the required number of votes, Stefanchuk instructed the Committee on Legal Policy to announce a new competition for the election of judges to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n
