During the recent attack on the north of temporarily occupied Crimea, Ukraine used its own Flamingo cruise missiles for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> the German publication Welt.<\/p>\n

According to sources, three missiles were aimed at the base of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Two of them reached their target, and the third fell about 100 meters from the facility.<\/p>\n

Missile systems expert Fabian Hofman from the University of Oslo noted that although the accuracy of the strike was not ideal, the explosive power compensated for this shortcoming – the craters at the impact sites are up to 15 meters in diameter.<\/p>\n

The publication also emphasizes that the use of Ukrainian long-range missiles, including the Flamingo, may put increasing pressure on the Russian leadership. If Moscow refuses to make concessions, Ukrainian forces may begin to strike not only energy facilities, but also critical military-industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

Recall that Ukraine has already begun using its own cruise missiles, which are capable of penetrating Russian air defenses.<\/a><\/p>\n

As reported, Fire Point, the company that created the Flamingo missile, has already reached a production rate of 50 units of this weapon per month<\/a> . By the end of the year, the company plans to achieve a new record – to produce about seven missiles per day.<\/p>\n
