The US possesses high-tech weapons that have not yet been used in the war in Ukraine, but could potentially be transferred to Kyiv.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker during the Riga Conference.<\/p>\n

“The United States has capabilities (not currently deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine) that are formidable, powerful, and can literally inflict serious damage anywhere and anytime we choose. And some of them will potentially continue to move to Ukraine for use, and that could change the calculus,” Whitaker noted.<\/p>\n

The American diplomat stressed that Washington has not yet reached the point where Russian ruler Vladimir Putin “will decide that it is time for negotiations,” but the United States has the resources to significantly change the situation on the front.<\/p>\n

Whitaker also recalled the panic in Russia over the possible transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, and also mentioned the recent incident when France seized a Russian tanker from the “shadow fleet”. According to him, such episodes demonstrate that Russia “cannot show weakness, although in fact it is very weak.”<\/p>\n

The ambassador’s statement came amid discussions of new formats of military support for Ukraine within NATO, where the United States remains a key partner in providing weapons and strategic planning.<\/p>\n

Recall, US President Donald Trump said that he had almost made a decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the White House administration is concerned about whether it will be possible to control the use of such missiles<\/a> after their transfer to the allies and then to the Ukrainian side.<\/p>\n

By the way, Putin stated the possible “destruction of relations” between Russia and the United States<\/a> if Washington decides to supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.<\/p>\n
