Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Friday, October 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by Financial Times<\/em> journalist Christopher Miller, who cited three informed sources familiar with the plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump plans to meet with President Zelenskyy in Washington on Friday,\u201d Miller wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the head of the Ukrainian President\u2019s Office, Andriy Yermak, confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation had departed for the United States, but did not specify whether President Zelenskyy himself would be attending the visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, along with National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, is heading to Washington. It will be a busy week, with much work ahead,\u201d Yermak said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the agenda includes strengthening Ukraine\u2019s air defense and strike capabilities, ensuring energy resilience ahead of winter, and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.<\/p>\n

Yermak emphasized that the Ukrainian side\u2019s ultimate goal remains unchanged: achieving a lasting and just peace by compelling Russia to end the war.<\/p>\n

As is known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump<\/a>, which he called “good and very productive.” During the conversation, they discussed the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv.<\/a><\/p>\n

Incidentally, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhyi reported that Ukraine and the United States are negotiating and “working to agree on all the details” regarding the possible provision of Tomahawk cruise missiles.<\/a> Currently, there is no categorical refusal, but a detailed and active discussion about the technical and organizational nuances is ongoing.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump stated that he had almost made a decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.<\/a> It should be noted that the White House administration is concerned about whether it will be possible to monitor the use of such missiles<\/a> after their transfer to allies and then to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
