Ukrainian military thwarted another attempt by Russian forces to launch a mechanized assault on Donetsk region. On Monday, October 13, the enemy attacked positions of the Defense Forces near Dobropillya (Ocheretinsky direction), but suffered significant losses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the press service of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.<\/p>\n

Russian troops attempted to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses in the direction of Myrnograd and Razino, focusing their main efforts on capturing the village of Shakhove. They deployed 16 units of heavy armored vehicles, including infantry fighting vehicles, MTLBs, and tanks, for the offensive.<\/p>\n

“As a result of defensive actions, 9 infantry fighting vehicles, 4 armored personnel carriers, 3 tanks, and 3 motorcycles were destroyed. Confirmed enemy losses amounted to 78 servicemen,” the report says.<\/p>\n

The enemy acted according to the usual pattern: the first wave of the assault was made up of motorcyclists, followed by armored vehicles with landing troops. The Russians also used electronic warfare, trying to suppress the work of Ukrainian drones and land infantry in populated areas to consolidate their positions.<\/p>\n

The assault was thwarted thanks to pre-prepared mining of the area, coordinated work of artillery, National Guard units, unmanned systems, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The command thanked the servicemen of the Airborne Assault and Assault Troops, the National Guard, the Ground Forces, the Air Force, the State Border Service, and the Unmanned Systems Forces for their professionalism and courage during combat.<\/p>\n

Recall that in September, the Defense Forces seized the initiative in the Dobropil direction and launched counteroffensive actions. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, since the beginning of the operation, Ukrainian troops have liberated more than 180 square kilometers of territory<\/a> , regaining control over strategic positions and destroying numerous enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.<\/p>\n

Earlier , in the Dobropil direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted successful counteroffensives<\/a> – probably three “cauldrons” for the Russians in the area of Kucherovy Yar, Volodymyrivka, and on the Razine-Novotoretske line.<\/p>\n

As is known, during the Dobropil counter-offensive operation, the Russian army suffered significant losses<\/a> – thousands of eliminated occupiers.<\/p>\n

By the way, Zelenskyy stated thatthe Defense Forces, thanks to the Dobropil counter-offensive operation, disrupted the Russian summer campaign<\/a> .<\/p>\n
