It is an ideal platform for the CAML-H (Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher Heavy) program for multi-role missions and formations. The X-MAV will be introduced for the first time with four Tomahawk guided missiles for engaging ground targets,” the company said in a statement.

In addition to the X-MAV, Oshkosh Defense also presented other modifications of the FMAV family of multi-purpose autonomous platforms. The medium M-MAV installation is remotely controlled and equipped with a multiple launch rocket system, while the lightweight L-MAV consists of modules for intercepting drones and electronic warfare.

Tomahawk missiles were originally designed to be launched from U.S. Navy ships and submarines. Only in 2023 did they become possible to launch from land-based installations thanks to the appearance of the Typhon complexes – a land-based version of the Mk41 ship-based vertical launch system, which has been in service with the U.S. military since 1982.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that he may inform Vladimir Putin about the possibility of transferring Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine if the war is not resolved soon. The supply of such weapons is being considered in response to Ukraine’s needs and was discussed in a conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As is known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump , which he called “good and very productive”, during which they discussed the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv.

By the way, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, reported that Ukraine and the United States are negotiating and “working to agree on all these details” regarding the possible provision of Tomahawk cruise missiles – there is no categorical refusal at the moment, but a detailed and active discussion about technical and organizational nuances is ongoing.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram .

The American company Oshkosh Defense, known for producing off-road military vehicles, has presented a new mobile launcher for Tomahawk missiles, capable of carrying out autonomous strikes on ground targets.
