Microsoft officially ended support for the Windows 10 operating system today, October 14, 2025. However, this is not the only change to pay attention to: in November, the corporation plans to stop servicing another popular version of Windows 11.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Microsoft’s official statement<\/a> , the company will end support for Windows 11 version 23H2 for Home and Pro editions on November 11, 2025. After this date, users will no longer receive monthly security updates, bug fixes, and previews of new features. The last security patch for this build will be released in November 2025.<\/p>\n

While the system will continue to work, the lack of updates will significantly increase the risk of virus infection, vulnerabilities, and compatibility issues with future programs or drivers. The company urges users to update without delay to avoid potential cyber threats and technical complications.<\/p>\n

Who wouldn’t be affected by this?<\/h2>\n

It is worth noting that corporate customers and educational institutions using the Enterprise, Education, or IoT Enterprise versions can rest assured for now – support for them will continue until November 2026. This decision is intended to give organizations additional time to smoothly transition to newer Windows builds and properly test updates in corporate networks.<\/p>\n

How to act for users<\/h2>\n

To continue receiving security updates and access to new features, Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 version 24H2 (also known as Windows 11 2024 Update) or the upcoming build 25H2. These versions offer improved performance, enhanced AI features, and ensure continuous security updates.<\/p>\n

The transition process is usually performed automatically when the current version’s support period ends, but the user can initiate the update manually through system settings.<\/p>\n

However, not all devices will immediately receive the new version – sometimes Microsoft introduces so-called “protective locks” for computers with incompatible drivers or software. This is done to avoid possible failures after the update and to ensure stable operation of the system.<\/p>\n
