In Kharkiv, law enforcement officials have issued a notice of suspicion to a 40-year-old woman who beat a three-year-old boy to death. A court has ordered her to be held in custody without bail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported<\/u><\/a> this.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, after his mother’s death, the child lived with his father, his partner, and his daughter. The father worked almost 24\/7 at a rehabilitation center, so his stepmother provided care for the child.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In early October, a conflict broke out between him and the child, during which the woman brutally beat the boy, punching and kicking him in the head and face. The child lost consciousness as a result of his injuries.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To cover up the crime, the suspect called an ambulance and told paramedics that the boy had fallen in the bathroom. The child was hospitalized, but died a few days later without regaining consciousness.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“On the day of the tragedy, neighbors heard screaming, crying, and cursing coming from the apartment. Medics confirmed that the injuries could not have been caused by a fall,” the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The woman was charged under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine\u2014intentional grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of a minor. She faces up to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
