Ukraine will receive all the F-16 fighters promised by Belgium, but their transfer depends on the training of Ukrainian pilots and the completion of technical procedures.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken during a briefing at NATO headquarters.<\/p>\n

The head of the Belgian Ministry of Defense commented on the issue of transferring fighter jets to Ukraine against the backdrop of the renewal of Belgium’s own aircraft fleet – the country is receiving new F-35s to replace the F-16s.<\/p>\n

“Yes, the F-16s will indeed arrive in Ukraine. But it will take some time. The pilots have to undergo training that lasts months. When the planes arrive, it does not mean that they will immediately be sent to the front,” Franken explained.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that there are no doubts about the fulfillment of obligations:<\/p>\n

“Ukraine will receive all the F-16s that were promised. This is a clear commitment,” the minister added.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken announced that the country will receive the first four F-35 fighters from the United States on October 13.<\/a> This delivery is of strategic importance not only for Brussels, but also for Ukraine – it is the renewal of the Belgian air fleet that paves the way for the transfer of F-16 combat aircraft to Kyiv.<\/p>\n

As reported, Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots are actively adapting the tactics of dispersed actions and are already demonstrating results in countering enemy drones and cruise missiles<\/a> . According to pilots and analysts, it is on the battlefield in real conditions that our aviation is the first to practice techniques that the United States is only beginning to integrate into its practice.<\/p>\n
