More than half of Ukrenergo’s energy facilities have been equipped with engineering protection to counter drone attacks. The second phase of shelters is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company noted that more than half of the facilities currently have second-level anti-drone protection. Work is ongoing, as installing the protection requires temporarily shutting down equipment. This results in a short-term power outage for consumers who receive power from these substations.<\/p>\n

The construction of the shelters is taking place in two stages. The first stage covered the most important substations that provide electricity transmission between the regions – from west to east and from south to north. Their protection has already been completed. The second stage includes other facilities, where work is ongoing.<\/p>\n

Ukrenergo also assured that the company has sufficient equipment to replace damaged elements of the power system.<\/p>\n

“Given the experience of previous autumn-winter periods, the transmission system operator has created stocks of high-voltage equipment that exceed the established standards by two to three times. Thanks to its own resources and assistance from international partners, the accumulation of stocks of equipment and materials continues,” the company noted.<\/p>\n

By the way, on October 15, as a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure , residents of almost all regions of Ukraine were left without electricity.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, due to previous Russian shelling, the situation in the Ukrainian energy system remains difficult – on October 14 , consumers in nine regions were left without electricity<\/a> .<\/p>\n
