During a closed meeting on October 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply criticized government officials for the lack of systemic responsibility in the area of energy infrastructure protection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting took place against the backdrop of massive Russian attacks on Ukrainian CHP plants, which left half of Kyiv without electricity and water.<\/p>\n

The heads of the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, energy structures, and government representatives were invited to the meeting at the President’s Office. The main topic was an audit of agreements with partners on military assistance, in particular to strengthen the protection of energy facilities.<\/p>\n

Zelensky, according to the interlocutors, sought to find out who specifically is responsible for the defense of critical infrastructure and what steps have already been taken. During the discussion, the president repeatedly expressed irritation when officials evaded specific answers.<\/p>\n

As noted in the material of “Ukrainian Pravda”, in such cases this leads to one final outcome – the longer the meeting lasts, the less clarity there is about who is responsible for what.<\/p>\n

At a certain point, the head of state raised his voice, demanding to stop shifting responsibility and move on to specifics.<\/p>\n

The President insisted on simple but fundamental things – to provide clear data on which energy grid facilities are already protected and which remain vulnerable.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the previous meeting of the State Council on October 6 ended with a “difficult conversation” and sharp criticism of government officials due to the slow pace of preparing the energy system for winter attacks.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Russia has once again intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure<\/a> . On October 10, two Kyiv CHP plants were hit, temporarily leaving part of the capital without electricity and water supply.<\/p>\n
