On the night of Friday, October 17, the Russian army launched a massive attack using 70 Shahed, Gerber, and other attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 35 aerial targets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

The drones were reportedly launched from Russian territory\u2014the Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk districts\u2014as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimean region of Chaudy. Approximately 50 drones made up the Shahed<\/em> .<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and unmanned aerial vehicle systems of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 35 Shahed, Gerber, and other attack UAVs in the north and east of the country,” the Air Force reported.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Thirty-one strikes by attack drones were also recorded in 10 different locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two more locations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The consequences of the attacks are being clarified, and emergency services are working on the ground.<\/p>\n
