In temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian air defense forces, trying to repel a drone attack, accidentally destroyed their own military aircraft.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of “Apostrophe TV”.<\/p>\n

“They were so active in repelling attacks that they shot down their own plane. This happened last night over Crimea. Currently, the occupation administration is trying to collect data on what happened,” said a Navy representative.<\/p>\n

Pletenchuk also reported that as a result of night strikes on military facilities on the peninsula, another enemy oil depot caught fire.<\/p>\n

On the night of October 17, residents of temporarily occupied Simferopol and its surroundings heard at least two powerful explosions. In particular, a large-scale fire was recorded at an oil depot in the village of Gvardiyske.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary data, the fire engulfed a facility belonging to the ATAN gas station network – its operator is Kedr LLC, which controls the largest gas station network in Crimea and also owns warehouses and fuel trucks.<\/p>\n

Oil depots, fuel depots, and logistics hubs remain priority targets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as they play a critical role in supplying Russian troops on the peninsula.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of October 17, residents and tourists in the city of Sochi reported the threat of an air attack \u2014 explosions could be heard over the city, air defenses were working, and hotel guests were evacuated to underground shelters.<\/a><\/p>\n
