US President Donald Trump expressed his belief that the war in Ukraine can be ended in a short time if he acts flexibly enough.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The American leader stated this during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington.<\/p>\n

During the conversation, reporters asked Trump whether he expects China to help resolve the war and whether Beijing should put pressure on Russia. The president replied that the main thing is the approach and willingness to compromise.<\/p>\n

“I wish it would end sooner. I mean, we have a chance to end the war quickly if we show flexibility,” he said.<\/p>\n

The American leader also emphasized that US participation in supporting Ukraine does not mean human losses or significant financial costs for Washington, as allies play a key role in financing assistance.<\/p>\n

“We don’t lose people. We don’t waste money. We get paid for ammunition, missiles and everything else that we send to the European Union. But also to NATO, but it’s very similar,” Trump explained.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the United States had recently reached important agreements on both trade with the European Union and defense cooperation with NATO, which he said created a solid foundation for ending the conflict.<\/p>\n

“We just made a very fair trade deal with the European Union and a very good deal with NATO. They’re paying for all of that. That’s not what we’re here for. We’re here to save thousands of lives every week. And I think we have a very good chance of bringing this war to an end,” Trump stressed.<\/p>\n

Recall that Trump previously avoided a direct answer to the question of whether Ukraine should cede territory<\/a> to achieve peace with Russia.<\/p>\n

The American leader also stated that India has almost completely stopped purchasing Russian oil and will soon completely stop importing it<\/a> . <\/p>\n
