Russia has lost the Veshkaima substation (500 kV) in the Ulyanovsk region \u2013 one of the key elements of its power system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, reported this on Telegram<\/a> .<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, the substation provided a connection between the Ulyanovsk, Mordovia, Chuvashia, and Samara regions and served as a transit hub for transmitting electricity from the Syzran and Zhigulevskaya hydroelectric power plants to the central regions of Russia.<\/p>\n

“This is what happens when you hit Ukraine’s energy sector,” Kovalenko emphasized.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Veshkaima substation is considered a key facility in the Russian power grid, connecting several major industrial regions of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the operation to destroy part of the refinery’s facilities was carried out by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces jointly with the Black Spark rebel movement<\/a> . This is the third time this year that the Kirishi refinery has been attacked. Each time, the consequences for Russian oil refining are becoming increasingly painful.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukrainian drones caused record damage<\/a> to Russia’s oil refining industry, knocking out nearly 38% of primary oil refining capacity.<\/p>\n

On October 2 , powerful explosions were heard in Russia’s Perm Krai<\/a> : drones struck a branch of the Uralchem plant’s Azot plant in the city of Berezniki, located 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n

Earlier, SBU drones struck Russia’s largest oil terminal,<\/a> Primorsk, in the Baltic Sea, halting oil shipments. <\/p>\n
