On the night of Saturday, October 18, the Russian army launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles and 164 attack drones of the Shahed<\/em> , Gerber<\/em> and other modifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

The missile launches originated in Russia’s Kursk region, and the drones attacked in the areas of Millerovo, Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Shahed<\/em> consisted of approximately 100 drones.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, and unmanned aerial systems were involved in repelling the air attack.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces destroyed or suppressed 136 hostile UAVs of the Shahed<\/em> , Gerber<\/em> , and other types in the north, south, east, and center of the country,” the command noted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Despite the high effectiveness of the air defense, 27 strike drones were recorded in 12 populated areas, as well as debris from downed drones falling in four locations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ukrainian military officials are calling this attack one of the most massive in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
