This is not the first time the Russian military has struck Ukrainian military training facilities.

This is reported by Kyiv Independent .

According to the publication, the attack was the latest in a series of Russian strikes on training centers across Ukraine. Previous strikes took place in September on a training ground in Chernihiv region, and in July, a Russian missile struck a training center in Kropyvnytskyi, killing at least twelve foreign volunteers.

The most large-scale attack occurred in March 2022, when Russian troops shelled a training center in the Lviv region, killing over sixty people.

Former Chief of Staff of the Azov Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Krotovych, noted that training centers are military facilities that must be protected by air defense systems.

“This should be a system, but it actually doesn’t exist in Ukraine right now,” he said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the safety of personnel is a priority of the command. They noted that after each shelling, an analysis of the causes and consequences is carried out to improve protective measures.

“My unconditional demand is to ensure and improve the safety of military personnel,” emphasized Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky.

Ruslan Gorbenko, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, believes that training should be conducted at least three hundred kilometers from the front line. At the same time, some units do not have their own bases in the rear, so training continues to be conducted closer to the combat zone.

Deputy Commander Kyrylo Berkal emphasized that Ukraine needs a strategic program to create underground infrastructure for military training.

“In general, we need to change our approach to training,” he said.

Former instructors note that Russian reconnaissance drones regularly detect recruit training sites, so the centers are forced to disperse personnel and camouflage training grounds to minimize losses.

Military experts acknowledge that the limited number of air defense systems, including Patriot systems, does not allow for complete coverage of training facilities. Russia actively uses ballistic missiles, which reach their targets in less than a minute.

Former British Army officer Glen Grant emphasized that in conditions of constant attacks, it is important to change the approach to training, avoid monotonous training and constantly change training locations.

“If we create more problems for Russia, there will be fewer losses,” he noted.

Ukrainian military analysts also emphasize that Soviet-style discipline and a lack of critical thinking remain a serious problem that prevents the army from quickly responding to challenges and learning from mistakes.

Despite the risks, instructors admit that using existing training grounds near the front remains a more practical solution, as building new bases requires significant resources and time.

It was previously reported that on the morning of October 16 , Russia carried out a massive combined strike on the territory of Ukraine, using two ballistic missiles on a training unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine . As a result of the enemy shelling, there were dead and wounded servicemen.

It is known that on Wednesday, September 24, the Russian army launched a combined strike on the territory of one of the training units of the Ground Forces , targeting a shelter. Earlier, the Russian occupation army carried out an attack with Shahed kamikaze drones on one of the training centers of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on June 22, the enemy launched a missile strike on the training ground of one of the mechanized brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where training sessions were held with servicemen. By the way, on June 4, the Russian occupation army launched a missile strike on the territory of one of the training units in the Poltava region.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , Twitter , Telegram , and Instagram .

The Russian military launched a missile strike on one of the Ukrainian training grounds on October 16, killing servicemen.
