Mass demonstrations under the slogan “No Kings” are taking place in hundreds of cities in the United States. Protesters are speaking out against the policies of President Donald Trump, accusing his administration of authoritarianism and the suppression of democratic values.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The protests began on October 18 and have spread to more than 2,500 locations across all 50 states. Organizers say millions of Americans have taken to the streets.<\/p>\n

According to the coordinators of the “No Kings” movement, the actions are peaceful. The organizers emphasize that their goal is to express disagreement with the increased military presence of federal forces in democratic states and mass raids by immigration services.<\/p>\n

“We stand for democracy, for our rights and freedoms. This is not against the country – it is for it,” said representatives of the organizers in Washington.<\/p>\n

During the rallies, protesters chanted slogans such as “This is what democracy looks like” and “People over billionaires.” Demonstrators held signs calling for the protection of women’s rights, minorities, and press freedom.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, the largest protests are taking place in New York, Washington, Atlanta, and Chicago. Solidarity demonstrations have also taken place in Europe, near the US embassies in Berlin, Paris, Rome, and Malmo.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump, commenting on the protests, said in an interview with Fox Business that the actions are politically motivated and directed against him personally.<\/p>\n

Earlier, a number of Republican politicians called the demonstrations “anti-American”, while Democrats emphasize that the protest is a legitimate manifestation of civic stance.<\/p>\n

Organizers of the “No Kings” movement said they would continue their actions until “true popular rule” is restored in the United States.<\/p>\n

Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has declared an attempted coup after part of the military joined mass protests in the capital Antananarivo. The unrest continues amid growing discontent over power and water shortages.<\/a><\/p>\n
