On the night of October 19, a series of drone attacks swept across several Russian regions, including the Samara and Orenburg regions. A strike in the Orenburg region resulted in a gas plant catching fire, while in the Samara region, an oil refinery in Novokuibyshevsk came under fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by local Russian governors, including the head of the Orenburg region, Yevgeny Solntsev, who confirmed that a fire broke out at a gas plant following the explosions in the region.<\/p>\n

“The attack partially damaged the plant’s infrastructure\u2014one of the workshops caught fire. There were no injuries among the workers,” Solntsev said.<\/p>\n

During the alarm in Orenburg, the airport temporarily suspended aircraft landings.<\/p>\n

Samara region authorities also reported an attack on the city of Novokuybyshevsk, home to an oil refinery that has been a frequent target of drones. Videos have surfaced online showing explosions and a fire at the facility.<\/p>\n

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 45 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over various regions, including Samara, Orenburg, Saratov, Rostov, Voronezh, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Volgograd, Ryazan, Tver, Tula, and occupied territories.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the operation to destroy part of the refinery’s facilities was carried out by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces jointly with the Black Spark rebel movement<\/a> . This is the third time this year that the Kirishi refinery has been attacked. Each time, the consequences for Russian oil refining are becoming increasingly painful.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Ukrainian drones caused record damage<\/a> to Russia’s oil refining industry, knocking out nearly 38% of primary oil refining capacity.<\/p>\n

On October 2 , powerful explosions were heard in Russia’s Perm Krai<\/a> : drones struck a branch of the Uralchem plant’s Azot plant in the city of Berezniki, located 1,700 km from the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n

Earlier, SBU drones struck Russia’s largest oil terminal,<\/a> Primorsk, in the Baltic Sea, halting oil shipments. <\/p>\n
