The UK is ready to significantly increase its defense spending in Ukraine and allocate well over \u00a3100 million for the possible deployment of British troops if US President Donald Trump reaches a peace deal with Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom, John Healy, during a speech at London’s Mansion House<\/span><\/strong> , Sky News<\/span><\/strong> reports<\/a> .<\/p>\n

During the lecture, Healy said that the UK, together with France, has been working for the past six months to create the so-called “Coalition of the Willing”, which has already been joined by more than 30 countries. The aim of this initiative is to form a “Multinational Ukrainian Force” – a military contingent that could be deployed after a possible ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, British troops are already preparing to participate in such a force and will be ready to deploy immediately after agreements are reached. London’s participation may include not only advisory support, but also the involvement of ground units that will ensure the security of Ukrainian borders.<\/p>\n

Gili explained that the task of the multinational force will be to guarantee the security of Ukraine’s air and maritime space, as well as to train the Ukrainian military in the event that Russia agrees to a cessation of hostilities.<\/p>\n

The minister also confirmed that the UK remains a key partner for Kyiv. The country is providing a record \u00a34.5 billion in support in 2025, and is taking over from the US as co-chair of an international coalition coordinating the supply of weapons, financial assistance and training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

At the same time, we previously reported that Russia’s line on maintaining troops in their current positions in Ukraine remains unchanged<\/a> . Thus, Moscow effectively rejected Donald Trump’s initiative for a ceasefire in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

However, it recently became known that the expected talks between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov<\/a> , which were supposed to take place this week, have been postponed indefinitely.<\/p>\n
