On the night of October 22, the Defense Forces attacked a number of strategic facilities in Russian regions, in particular, they managed to hit the Saransk Mechanical Plant and the Makhachkala Oil Refinery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported<\/span><\/a> by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

As noted, Ukrainian units carried out strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation as part of reducing the enemy’s military and economic potential.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, as a result of the attack on the Saransk Mechanical Plant in the Republic of Mordovia, explosions were heard.<\/span><\/p>\n

The General Staff explained that the enterprise manufactures anti-personnel engineering ammunition and mining kits, ammunition detonators, and initiation units.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, as a result of the attack on the Makhachkala oil refinery in Dagestan, one of the processing units on the territory of the enterprise was hit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The refinery supplies and stores fuel for the Caspian Fleet’s naval base. In addition, the plant refuels Russian military vessels.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the General Staff, the annual processing volume is up to a million tons.<\/span><\/p>\n

The extent of the damage caused by the attacks is currently being determined.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The defense forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian aggressor and force the Russian Federation to cease armed aggression against Ukraine,” the press service summarized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier it became known that a drone attack was recorded over the territory of Dagestan<\/a> at night, as a result of which one of the industrial facilities in Makhachkala was hit.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the first explosions in Mordovia occurred around 3 a.m<\/a> .; local eyewitnesses released footage showing UAVs hitting the territory of the Saransk Mechanical Plant and a large mushroom-shaped column of flame rising above it.<\/p>\n
